Local Liberal Democrats are campaigning for 20mph speed limits outside schools and in residential roads where local people want them.

Local Lib Dem Brian Collin said, "20 mph speed limits in residential areas have been shown to cut accidents and help save lives.

There are many roads in our area where it is not possible to driver faster than 20mph safely - we should change the speed limit to reflect this."

"Local people here wanted lower speed limits outside schools - but the Conservatives on the County Council gave us signs with cartoon snails on instead - and then had the cheek to charge schools for them!"
