It's official: Winchester grows to become the biggest Lib Dem constituency party in the country

Winchester Liberal Democrats are celebrating after winning recognition as the fastest growing and largest Liberal Democrat constituency party in the country.

More than 38 people joined the Liberal Democrats in Winchester between July and October, taking the local Lib Dem party to the number one spot across the UK - both for how fast the party grew and for their number of members.

Liberal Democrat Prospective MP, Martin Tod received a prize for his local party's membership growth at the recent Lib Dem Conference in Chandler's Ford:

"We can't take anything for granted, but the support we're getting from local people is very encouraging. It's great that so many people want to join the Winchester Lib Dem team" commented Mr Tod. "All the hard work of everyone locally, combined with our campaigns on the environment, green jobs and public services seem to be having a real impact."
