NO to Pitt Vale development

Local Lib Dems lead fight to STOP Pitt Vale housing plans

Your local Lib Dem team are leading the fight to stop plans for 350 new homes. The site, next to Pitt Manor, is outside the city’s boundary and would cause further traffic chaos like that seen along Romsey Road recently.

Working together with local residents, we have already been able to force the developer to cut the number of homes in their plan from 500 to 350. Now we need to make that ZERO!

Local Lib Dem Councillor Brian Collin commented: “I’ve been oppose to this development from the start. We need to send a clear message to developers that they can’t just come and build wherever they like.

“Houses should be built where there is the infrastructure to support them, not just anywhere. We have a plan in place to make sure that takes place, we must stick to it.”

We oppose plans to build at Pitt Vale.

There is simply no adequate infrastructure, especially roads, school places and social facilities in the area to cope with further development and that is even before the loss of agricultural land and the open chalk landscape is considered.
