Rail firms have announced plans for the mass closure of England’s ticket offices including the last two in Winchester.
Train operators have proposed to shut down almost all of the 1,007 remaining offices except the busiest stations within three years.
Rail ticket offices, such as Winchester and Micheldever, are a lifeline for so many passengers - particularly those who are elderly or disabled, or tourists supporting our local economy.
We all want a modernised, upgraded railway, but any changes have to work for the most vulnerable too.
Danny Chambers is calling for these plans to be stopped and for our ticket offices to be saved.
Public transport should be becoming better and more accessible, not losing services.
Support the campaign by signing our petition today.
I/we the undersigned call on the Department for Transport and South Western Rail to drop plans to shut local railway station ticket offices.
