Gigabit Broadband

Cash to drive up rural broadband speeds

If you live in Alresford or the surrounding villages and have broadband download speeds of less than 100 Mb/s then you may be interested in Hampshire’s Top-Up to the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme. It provides additional funding for residents in rural Hampshire so they can get access to fast, reliable broadband services via fibre to premises.

Eligible residents can get vouchers worth up to £3000 per property – double the value of the Government’s standard Gigabit Broadband Voucher. However, you will need to team up with your neighbours as you have to apply as a group.

This is good news but as the funds are on a first come first served basis, there is much more funding needed to ensure out town and rural users get a decent broadband service. Contact Margot Power if you'd like advice on how to launch a local scheme.
