Paula Ferguson will be chairing the debate in The Politics Shed on 10th March at 7.30pm.
Following the success of the Politics Sheds last year, the Politics Shed will be open for the first time this year to herald in the Spring and to engage in stimulating debate.
If you want to participate in debating some of the bigger issues of the day the Politics Shed is the place to be.
Our overall theme is:
Proportional Representation is inevitable for the UK - Or are we deluding ourselves?
We want to stimulate debate on this theme by asking you all thought provoking questions such as:
- Does Proportional Representation (PR) lead to more inclusive politics?
- How does PR affect decision-making in politics?
- Are UK political parties grown up enough to handle the consequences of PR elections?
- If PR became optional at a local level would we go for it?
There will be a short scene setting slot on PR before we go into the first question.
You may also want to look at the "Get PR Done" Facebook page before joining in with the discussion in the Shed.
As with previous visits to the Shed, everyone will have a chance to speak if they’d like to, or if you simply want to come along and listen, you're most welcome. Once again, Paula Ferguson will be in the chair. Each question will be discussed for a period of 20-30 minutes so we aim to get through 3-4 questions in the time.
