Paula Ferguson will be chairing the debate and Bridget Smith will be our special guest in The Politics Shed on 7th October at 7.30pm.
Following the success of the last two Politics Sheds in the summer, the Politics Shed will be open for more stimulating debate and we are delighted that Bridget Smith, Leader of South Cambs Liberal Democrat Council, will be joining us.
If you want to participate in debating some of the bigger issues of the day the Politics Shed is the place to be.
Our overall theme is:
Local Democracy Is Under Threat - Do We Care?
We want to stimulate debate on this theme by asking you all thought provoking questions such as:
- What role does local government play in tackling the climate emergency?
- Why are the Tories trying to kill off local democracy?
- How can the Liberal Democrats survive without a local government base?
As with previous visits to the Shed, everyone will have a chance to speak if they’d like to, or if you simply want to come along and listen, you're most welcome. Once again, Paula Ferguson will be in the chair. Each question will be discussed for a period of 20-30 minutes.
