Local health campaigner Danny Chambers calls for immediate funding to free up 200 beds in Winchester Hospital.

Danny Chambers says, “At any given time there are around 200 people in Winchester Hospital who are ready to be discharged but have nowhere to go. This means the A&E  department struggles to find beds for those who need them, leaving ambulances queuing outside. It also means that routine operations have to be cancelled because of the lack of available hospital beds.

“We urgently need funding for 200 people to receive social care packages and rehabilitation placements. This would free up 200 more beds in Winchester hospital that could be used for A&E and elective operations. This will ensure people can get treatment when they need it."
