Danny joins residents for Winchester climate and nature briefing
Winchester MP Danny Chambers joined residents at Winchester Science Centre on Wednesday 30 September for a community screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing.
The event, organised in partnership with Wonderseekers and Winchester Action for Climate Change (WINACC), brought people together to explore what climate change and nature loss mean for everyday life.
The film featured leading scientists and experts explaining the implications for our health, food security, cost of living and extreme weather. Danny joined the discussion and spoke alongside WINACC about the challenges facing our communities.
For Winchester and the surrounding villages, protecting nature means safeguarding our rare chalk streams, supporting farmers and looking after the countryside and green spaces that make our area special.
Danny has been pressing for stronger protection for chalk streams in national planning policy and reform of the water industry to tackle sewage pollution. The evening provided an opportunity to discuss these concerns with residents and local environmental campaigners.
