Save our A&E

Vital services are set to be axed from Winchester Hospital, as anger grows over Conservative failure to back our NHS.

The local A&E department, stroke care, emergency surgery and maternity would all face closure. Patients would be forced to travel to Basingstoke to access care.

The cuts would also affect residents around the Meon Valley, as emergency rooms in Southampton and Portsmouth would face increased pressure.

Local Lib Dem health campaigner Danny Chambers is leading the campaign to save our A&E department.

Danny said: “When there is a medical emergency, every minute counts. These cuts will means local people face longer journeys to get the help they need. People are understandably concerned about the impact moving services out of the area will have. We should be investing in improving local access, rather than putting lives at risk by cutting essential care."

“I’m fighting to save our A&E and fix our NHS. It’s my top priority. People can back my campaign by signing the petition online today.”
