Following a disastrous water shortage last month, Local Lib Dem campaigner Danny Chambers is calling on Southern Water to scrap plans for a 60% price increase by 2030.

Commenting, Danny Chambers, said: “Southern Water seem able to keep the sewage flowing into the river, but unable to keep water coming out of the taps.

“After failing to deliver the bare minimum, people feel that a gigantic surge in prices is completely unjustified. I’ve been supporting residents affected by the recent water shortages and it’s been heartbreaking to hear of vulnerable people stuck without access to water. It’s time that the Government took action to reform our water companies so that they are forced to put people and the environment ahead of their profits.”
