Save The South Downs

We did it!

The government has published the list of amendments to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill.

I am delighted to confirm that they are not moving forward with their reported plans to weaken the duty on National Parks to promote and protect nature.

Yesterday, I was able to present the Minister with over 1,200 signatures from those who have backed our campaign.

I know that this groundswell of support for our National Parks from the communities that live and care about them has been vital to force the government to do the right thing.

Thank you to everyone who signed the petition, shared the campaign and who made sure the voices of our part of Hampshire were heard.

We know we have a lot more to do to protect our ecosystems, promote nature and end wildlife decline - both in the South Downs National Park and across the country.

As your MP, I will continue that fight.

Save The South Downs

We, the undersigned, call on the Labour government to not water down protections for National Parks as part of the planning bill.
